November 28, 2012Format: Webinar
In 2009, PetSmart Charities undertook a national survey, administered by Ipsos research, in order to better understand the general public’s attitudes and understandings about pet adoption and spay/neuter. In late 2011, the survey was re-administered, again to a large, national sample of the population, in order to determine which aspects of adoption and spay/neuter perceptions may have changed, and which remain the same. What we found might surprise you, and will give professionals in animal welfare the opportunity to better understand their current and prospective clients: those who have adopted a pet, those who haven’t, and those whose pets may or may not be spayed/neutered. Find out more about why pet owners (and those considering acquiring a pet) make the decisions they do and how we, as an industry, can help tear down the barriers to adoptions and spay/neuter in order to save the lives of more homeless pets.
